Look of the Day: The Skirt

June 16, 2012

Hey, everyone! As you can probably tell, I cut half of my hair length and couldn’t be happier about it. Aside from all the obvious practical pros like less hair products and no screaming while trying to brush it out, I feel like this length makes me look a bit younger and wanna dress a bit differently, less feminine and more sporty, which is a good thing, because feminine is what I desperately try not to be :)

On another note, this is probably the comfiest skirt I have ever owned, the jersey fabric is super soft and stretchy and the orange mesh in the front is such a nice twist. It’s been a while since I last wore a skirt of this length and no matter how funny this sounds it brings a feeling of security, when you don’t have to watch out for your underwear to show, if you know what I mean :)
Have a great weekend!
I’m wearing:
Skirt – Oasap
White mesh tank – DIY from last year
Heels – Zara
Clutch – Bershka
Watch – gifted

Statement Necklace DIY Tutorial

March 14, 2012
(images via stylescrapbook.com)
I’ve been obsessed with this Giia necklace the moment I saw Andy Torres wearing it, it looked like a piece of cake to me so I decided to make it with my own hands. I’ve been getting a lot of DIY requests in the comments so I decided to post a tutorial with all the steps. I made it pretty detailed so here’s an overload of pictures with what you need to do.

1. Pretty simple so far :) I didn’t use felt for this necklace because I’ve never worked with it, and I used threads instead of glue just because things could get really messy :)

2. Use the ruler to draw stripes of the same width but different length.

3. Cut the fabric into stripes.

4. Fold each stripe in half and iron it to make sure it stays folded.

5. Start rolling the stripes for the necklace. Make sure the rolls are of different size.

6. Make a lot of rolls:)

7. Sew the rolls together in the shape that you want.

8. This is my future necklace.

9. Cut out two identical stripes, fold them and sew to close the necklace with.

10. Sew the strips into the necklace.

11. Now that they are attached, try on the necklace to define which length you need. Mark the desired length with a pencil.

12. Now take a clasp and attach it with a thread to the place you marked with a pencil.

13. The same goes for the ring on the other side.

14. Fold the strips and sew two parts together to secure the clasp and the ring, then cut away what’s left.

15. Voila! I can’t wait to wear it :)
I hope you like it! Tell me what you think!
