I believe this trend has been strong since last year but to me this season’s ruffles seem fresher than ever. Probably because of the new textures and those genius skirts the designers have come up with for 2017. I’m officially on the hunt for a perfect ruffled skirt, but I wouldn’t mind getting a few cutesy ruffled tops along the way.
I was obsessed with the vinyl trend the moment I saw it in mini skirts, then came the pants, which I deem incredibly sexy and unique. This is definitely not the kind of trend you’ll be seeing everywhere, simply because there’s not much vinyl goodness you can buy online, so if you feel the power to rock it, go ahead! My suggestion is to pair vinyl bottoms with heels or flats, sporty outerwear (I’m crazy about this 90’s rain mac!) and logo tees. Another love of mine is the Champion logo so I couldn’t help but get myself one of their t-shirts this season. Another option I’ll try with these bad boys is a dark blazer and some sneakers or loafers!
One of my favorite online retailers – Shopbop runs a 3-day sale event and Fashion Agony readers have an exclusive opportunity to shop the sale before everyone else does!
Get 20% OFF orders under $500 and 25% OFF orders of $500 and more using the code EVENT17 (this includes full priced and sale items)! Here are some of the things I laid my eyes on, will probably cave, especially with the discount!
I’m not usually one to wear several statement pieces in a single outfit, my usual safe outfit formula is one statement piece plus neutral basics. This time I was inspired by the arrival of spring and simply bored by the lack of color on my instagram feed, so I decided to trow a pair of embroidered shoes, a printed coat and a hand painted bag into the mix, I felt like all of these pieces had something in common so they won’t look super overwhelming altogether. To avoid the overdone look I finished the outfit off with simple mom jeans and a black hoodie. I personally don’t feel like this was too much, what about you?
Gingham is making a a huge comeback for spring ’17, but this time it’s taken a completely new, bolder look. Asymmetric cuts, deconstructed gingham, structural shapes, ruffles and mixed prints – this season the designers offer us the intriguing new ways of wearing gingham. I was never a fan of this print, but I have to admit, this season’s shapes and cuts totally won me over.
