Sunday Cravings: Pool Sliders

June 1, 2014

I love everything about the normcore trend, especially the shoes: sneakers and sliders that have sneaked into our closets and are so indispensable, when it comes to putting together a comfy outfit. What I like most about pool sliders is that they can be worn with literally everything – the more sophisticated your clothes the better. It goes without saying it’s hard to find a better match for a simple tee+jeans combination as well. Last year I was excited about the Birkenstocks, but this year they might look a bit boring given all the awesome choices in the stores, and below is just a small portion. How do you guys feel about the ugly shoes being the new best thing?

Look of the Day: Hard Light

Hard afternoon sun and crazy wind are a blogger’s nightmare, especially when combined. I personally prefer soft morning light on my outfit pictures, sunsets will do as well, but what can you do if it’s your only opportunity to shoot an outfit?

1) make sure the wind is blowing in your back, this way the hair will look more voluminous
2) if squinting on a picture is not an option, stand facing the sun and turn your head to a side, so that one part of your face was lit up without any harsh shadows
3) if you can’t/don’t want to find a shadow, try turning your back to the sun and then just add some contrast to your pictures in Photoshop.

I’m wearing:

Crackled top – Cameo (a gorgeous dress in the same print here)
Sleeveless blazer – Zara (similar one here)
Jeans – Asos
Necklace – Zara (similar one here)
Watch – Michael Kors
Heels – Zara (similar ones here
Bag – Asos

What’s In My Bag

Happy Saturday everyone! I’ve been asked a lot to make a what’s in my bag post, so figured I’ll show you some of my essentials! I carried all of the above a couple of days ago, I spent a day at the office, had a bunch of meetings, went to lunch with a friend, all in all a pretty standard week day.

So what are the things I can’t live without?

1. My iPad mini in a new leather sleeve from Mujjo, I just love its tanned color.
2. I can be pretty absent minded so a day planner is my savior, if I had to carry only one thing with me – this would be it.
3. Wallet and two card holders from H&M, I like these accessories to be small
4. A pack of band aid, which is my must have in the beginning of summer
5. Avene Thermal Spring water – perfect for instant refreshment
6. Klorane Dry Shampoo is my necessity, especially when it’s hot outside, without it I would seriously have to wash my head every single day, plus it gives a great boost of volume
7. & other stories hand cream – I only use it in summer because it’s not too oily and it smells heavenly
8. Some H&M lip balm, I actually have a dozen of similar ones and grab the one that’s closest to me when I pack my bag :)
9. My iPhone to take pictures of food and shoes
10. New Sunnies from Asos.

The bag above is Michael Kors Selma tote.

What are you spring/summer essentials that you carry around?

The last two weeks have been super busy so I didn’t update as much as I wanted and I’ve got some pretty exciting work projects ahead so I’m not sure if I have enough time to post often. But, since I’m not a dress code girl, you’ll get a chance to see more of what I wear on busy days, like the outfit above. Sure I have a pair of heels in my office (okay, five pairs) to spice up my outfits when I need it, but I usually wear comfy shoes like these new Asos slipons. I hope you guys are having a great week so far and thanks for stopping by!

I’m wearing:

Sweatshirt – Chicwish (a cool one here)
Jeggings – Asos
Bag – The Leather Satchel
Velvet slip ons – Asos Dockland (lots of cool options here)
Watch – Pink Naples from Rapp
